Event Understanding Harmful Sexual Behaviour in the context of Trauma in Children and Young People (>)
 

This is a half day course for professionals who may be required as part of their role to make an assessment of or deliver an intervention to a child or young person with harmful sexual behaviour where that young person has experienced childhood trauma(s).  Participants on this course must have attended the 90 minutes workshop, ‘Identifying Harmful Sexual Behaviour in Children and Young people’.

 

Learning outcomes; By the end of this course, participants should be able to;

  • Have a clearer understanding of what developmental trauma is
  • Have a clearer understanding of how developmental trauma might impact upon a child’s sexual development
  • Understand some of the reasons why young people who have experienced developmental trauma might display harmful sexual behaviour
  • Be clearer on assessment tools/frameworks to help identify harmful sexual behaviour in context of developmental trauma.
  • Feel more confident in planning interventions for young people displaying harmful sexual behaviour and more knowledgeable in how to adapt such interventions in context of developmental trauma.
