Event *>Safer Sleep Training -Reducing the risk of Sudden Unexplained Infant Death
 

Aim: Practitioners will have increased knowledge and awareness of safer sleep and how to discuss this with the families they are working with 

Learning outcomes/objectives: by the end of the session practitioners will

  • Have a greater knowledge of safe sleep
  • Feel confident to discuss safer sleep with families
  • Understand why certain sleep positions or practices are unsafe
  • Have awareness of the multiagency role we all play in protecting babies
  • Awareness of resources which can be shared with families and the links on Just One Norfolk
  • If identified or observe any unsafe sleep practices in a contact, which could put the baby at risk of Sudden Unexplained Infant Death, feel confident to discuss them and professionally challenge
  • Know what to do when worried
